BHP’s region championship and playoff aspirations were crushed with a 52-14 loss to Daniel last Friday night. It is hard to determine if that outcome or the season as a whole has been more disappointing. As a Bear it always hurts losing to Daniel, but combine that with missing the playoffs for the first time since 1996 and the health and safety backdrop of the season, it is hard to imagine a more disappointing outcome for the 2020 season.
However, the season is not over. There are still two games left and we still get to see our Bears take the field. Although the playoffs are not in reach, a winning season is and as of now, that should be a major rallying point for this team. And to get back to a .500 record, BHP will travel to take on Seneca in a very rare Monday night matchup.
BHP will take on the Seneca Bobcats in the 4th and second to last game of the season. This is a region matchup and no matter the outcome BHP is slotted for third place in the region.
BHP will look to capitalize on a Seneca defense that has been porous at best. Seneca gave up 76 points against Daniel and 63 points to Wren. Although BHP’s offense has not been on par with those teams, BHP needs to put up big yardage and point totals this week.
BHP will have to handle the Seneca offense who did score 34 points against Daniel and 26 points against Wren. BHP has had a hard time defending the pass and that will be Seneca’s calling card. It will be a good test for the BHP defense as we near the end of the season.

As we close in on the end of the season, BHP is faced with a conundrum that they have not faced in a long time. They are faced with remaining games that are for the most part, meaningless. But that is not how football works, well at least for Bears. No matter the record, the playoff prospects, or even the expected result, BHP plays to win the game. And we hope this Monday BHP shows up with that attitude and wins this one and then handles business against little brother Palmetto.
Prediction: BHP 56 -- Seneca 21
