2025 Bold Predictions

Bear Fans! We've officially crossed that magical threshold of preseason where I pull out the crystal ball, channel every ounce of football intuition I've built up over the years, and start laying down some genuinely audacious predictions for what promises to be an unforgettable season ahead. So grab a Gatorade, settle in, and let's dive deep into the swirling mists of possibility as I unleash some daring, potentially prophetic takes that might just define this year.

Before anyone starts questioning my sanity, let's establish one thing right up front: these predictions are boldly, unapologetically ambitious!

Noah Thomas Shatters the BHP All-Time Passing Record, Pushing His Career Total to a Staggering 6,000 Yards

This prediction stretches into the realm of the seemingly impossible because we're talking about SIX THOUSAND yards – a number so massive it practically echoes through the Bears’ Stadium. But when I examine the complete picture, factoring in the glowing endorsement Coach Jenkins delivered during his Bear Rumble podcast appearance, this mountainous achievement suddenly transforms into something that feels genuinely achievable.

Let me break down the mathematical journey ahead. Noah carved up defenses for 1,585 yards during his sophomore 2023 campaign and followed that with an even more impressive 1,800 yards in his junior 2024 season, bringing his career passing total to a solid 3,385 yards. The gap between his current total and that magical 6,000 mark? A daunting 2,615 yards that would require Noah to obliterate the current BHP single-season record of 2,344 yards.

To put this challenge in perspective, only nine quarterbacks across the entire state of South Carolina managed to eclipse 2,615 passing yards last season. The number appears astronomical, almost mythical in its scope.

But here's where Robert Collier's timeless wisdom comes into play: "Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out." When we transform that overwhelming 2,615-yard mountain (let's round it up to 2,700 for good measure) into digestible, game-by-game portions, something remarkable happens to our perspective. If the Bears march as deep into the playoffs as I expect them to, stretching their season to fifteen contests, Noah would need to average just 180 passing yards per game. Suddenly, that insurmountable peak becomes a series of manageable hills that this talented quarterback can climb.

Multiply 180 yards by fifteen games, and you get 2,700 passing yards. Add that to his current career total, and we're staring at 6,085 career passing yards – a number that would cement Noah's legacy in BHP folklore forever.

The beautiful irony here? Most observers would categorize Noah as a quarterback built for handing off the rock and launching the occasional deep strike over the last few years. Instead, he's positioned to claim not just the career and single-season passing records, but virtually every meaningful passing milestone in BHP history.

Here's a bonus prediction that rides alongside this bold forecast: if Noah achieves this passing milestone, this season's offensive unit will simultaneously establish a new BHP school record for total offensive production. The current record stands at 5,785 total yards, set during that explosive 2023 campaign.

The path to offensive domination starts with Noah's projected 2,700 passing yards, leaving 3,085 yards to be distributed across the ground game. Over the past three seasons, BHP has averaged a robust 3,754 rushing yards annually. Even accounting for the shift toward aerial attack, a modest 20% reduction still leaves us with approximately 3,000 rushing yards.

The rushing attack begins with MJ Earle, who might not flirt with the astronomical numbers Marquise Henderson posted over the past two seasons, but 1,400 yards sits comfortably within his reach. That leaves 1,600 yards to be distributed among our impressive stable of backs. The quartet of BJ Anderson, Malachi Hester, Tizere Ware, and Cam Robinson should combine for roughly 1,200 rushing yards, with each contributor averaging around 300 yards for the season.

That calculation brings our remaining target down to just 485 yards, which is where Noah's dual-threat ability becomes the final piece of this offensive puzzle. Even with his record-setting passing campaign, Noah's legs will continue terrorizing defenses for another 500 yards on the ground.

The final tally? 5,800 total offensive yards that would shatter every offensive record in BHP history.

This prediction demands not just individual excellence, but seamless teamwork and a series of monster performances throughout the lineup. Based on what I've witnessed over recent seasons and the electricity I can feel building around this upcoming campaign, by December, these numbers might not seem nearly as bold as they appear today.

Kylan Dixon and Kamarion Glenn Will Establish Themselves as the Greatest Defensive Line Duo in BHP History

This might be my absolute favorite prediction on the entire list. Among all the position groups on a football team, the defensive line resonates with me on the deepest level. These two warriors embody that mean, tenacious, athletic mentality that has defined BHP football, but they represent it with an intensity and skill level that might surpass any duo in school history.

Their combined production over the past two seasons tells a story of consistent dominance:

All of this destruction emanating from interior linemen positions, where statistics typically get absorbed by the chaos of the trenches.

The remarkable aspect of this prediction becomes even more impressive when you consider BHP's rich tradition of developing elite defensive linemen over the past decade. Names like Austin Daniel, Alkeem Thompson, Keenan Washington, Cadavius Gary, Jamais Glenn, Jatius Geer, and Justin Lathon have all carved their names into BHP defensive lore. That doesn't even account for the legendary players who dominated the trenches before Coach Blackston's era began.

Despite this impressive lineage and the established tradition surrounding the position group, Dixon and Glenn will etch their names into BHP history as the most dominant defensive line partnership the school has ever produced.

Here's the statistical masterpiece I envision them crafting together:

Anyone who has followed my Bear Tracks post over recent seasons knows my deep appreciation for watching BHP linemen work their craft, and these two represent the absolute pinnacle of that artistry. Operating from their interior positions, they will build statewide reputations that extend far beyond our community.

Tajeh Watson-Martin Reaches Rarified Air with 20 Receiving TDs and 10 Interceptions

If Tajeh Watson-Martin can achieve this statistical combination, we're talking about entering the same exclusive atmosphere occupied by legends like Deion Sanders and Travis Hunter, well at least the South Carolina high school version. The two-way excellence required to reach these numbers exists in truly rarified air.

Let's examine how this incredible season could unfold. During his freshman campaign, Tajeh led the team with seven interceptions while focusing exclusively on defense. Last season, he flipped the script completely, recording zero interceptions but leading the team with thirteen touchdown receptions while teams avoided targeting his defensive coverage.

This season presents a fascinating twist that could unlock both sides of his exceptional talent. KJ Miles, operating as a hybrid corner-linebacker, led the team with five interceptions last season. With that level of production anchoring the opposite side of the field, particularly in short and intermediate coverage areas, opposing offenses might finally start testing Tajeh's side of the field again.

Combine that increased targeting with the relentless pressure the defensive line will generate, and bad decisions become inevitable. When those poor choices get made, Tajeh will make offenses pay dearly. Interceptions and turnovers have a tendency to arrive in clusters, so don't be surprised if you glance at the stats and discover he's recorded three or even four picks in a single game.

The path to twenty receiving touchdowns becomes clear when you examine this retooled offensive attack orchestrated by Noah Thomas. Tajeh's blazing speed remains virtually unmatched at the 3A level. Throughout last season and even this preseason, we've witnessed him effortlessly separate from defenders, finding himself ten yards behind the secondary with nothing but green grass ahead. That scenario will repeat itself frequently this season.

That top speed isn't just devastating on deep routes either. Screen passes and jet-sweep concepts become touchdown opportunities every time the ball touches his hands. By season's end, conversations about the best players in South Carolina at any classification level will prominently feature Tajeh Watson-Martin's name, and rightfully so.

BHP Dominates Every Game by Two Touchdowns or More

Let me begin by highlighting this remarkable senior class and their incredible journey. Over the past three seasons, they've compiled an astounding 36-5 record. Six more victories would establish them as the winningest senior class in school history. They also represent the only class with the opportunity to win ten or more games in each of their four seasons, and they join just four other classes in BHP history with fewer than ten career losses. These numbers exist in a completely different stratosphere.

Now, back to the bold prediction. In South Carolina high school football, particularly at the 1A, 2A, and 3A classifications, a clear separation exists between genuinely elite programs and everyone else. While any given Friday night can produce unexpected results, I struggle to envision most of BHP's scheduled opponents maintaining competitiveness into the second half.

Let me pause here to clarify: I am not a coach, and these observations represent my personal analysis without any reflection of the football team's or coaching staff's attitudes or expectations.

Examining the regular season schedule, only one contest (possibly two) appears capable of providing genuine competition, and that's the week four showdown against Westside. The reigning 4A Upperstate champions represent the only program to defeat BHP during regular season play over the past two seasons. They've graduated significant talent, but their program has evolved into one of the state's elite organizations while retaining top-tier players throughout their roster.

This crucial matchup is played at BHP, where the Bears historically perform at their peak. The last time these programs clashed at BHP, the Bears emerged victorious 43-28. I anticipate the Bears placing enormous focus and emphasis on this particular contest, using it as a statement game that resonates throughout the state. BHP prevails by two touchdowns.

Beyond Westside, no other regular-season opponent earned recognition in last week's SC Media 3A poll. The playoffs present a completely different challenge entirely. Following the typical first-round matchup against a team with three or fewer wins, the opponents begin providing significantly sterner tests. From that point forward, BHP could face multiple top-ten programs featured in last week's SC Media rankings.

Programs like Powdersville, Woodruff, Christ Church, and Mountain View Prep all represent formidable challenges should BHP encounter them during their playoff journey. Even acknowledging the talent level and competitive fire I observe in this team's preparation, I believe none of these opponents possess the tools necessary to slow down this Bears machine.

Then comes the final game, where perhaps my crystal ball reflects too much navy and red, but something deep in my gut generates that warm, familiar feeling that suggests something truly special awaits.

So here's the prediction: 15-0, achieved in emphatic, dominating fashion that leaves no doubt about this team's place in BHP history.

Alright, Bear Fans, my prediction hat is officially retired and the crystal ball has faded into the mists for one more year, but the season approaches with lightning speed!
