Pregame Soundtrack

Alright, folks, it's that time of the year again, and you know what that means – we're kicking off our Bear Tracks season with another football-adjacent post! That's right we are not talking about any on-field action, but just hypotheticals that only fans can dream up. We've done it all in the past – from presenting new uniform options to waving your flag post and even the mashup of BHP meets WWE last season. But this time around, we're taking on another crucial aspect of the pregame atmosphere – the ultimate pregame playlist!

You see, when you step into a stadium, it's not just about the players or the fans; it's about the vibes, the energy, and that magical feeling in the air. And a big part of that comes from the pregame playlist, my friends. Picture this – the soundtrack blasting through the speakers, the anticipation building, and everyone getting into that party mode even before the first snap. Yeah, that's the kind of atmosphere we want to build with our carefully curated playlist.

Now, this isn’t your typical pump-up, in-your-face playlist. We're going to blend it all together – from heart-pounding rock anthems to some good ol' country classics, sprinkled with just the right dose of party hits and pure unadulterated hype! You won't find the usual predictable tracks directly related to football (cough cough "Boys of Fall" ); we're taking things up a notch and getting creative!

But hold up, before we dive in, let me lay down a few ground rules. First off, you know the drill – we have no influence on the football program or the school as a whole. What you're about to witness is purely hypothetical, driven by our own sports-crazed views. Second, we gotta keep it family-friendly, folks. So, rest assured, all the tracks we pick will be suitable for everyone from the smallest cubs to the most tenured Bears.

Now, let's talk about structure. We're breaking it down into four categories – Country, Rock, Party, and Hype – each with three killer tracks to keep the party going strong. And we aren’t just filling a few minutes. We're aiming for that sweet spot of 30-45 minutes leading up to kick-off. Trust me; this isn’t your average playlist – this is the stuff that sets the tone for a football fiesta!

So, buckle up, and get ready because we're about to hit play on the most epic pregame playlist ever assembled. Let the good times roll, my friends, and let's get this party started!

Country

We're kicking off this playlist with the Country grouping, and we're taking it easy to ease into the party vibe. We've got songs that set the mood for a happy, fun feeling, and believe me, we're just getting started.

"Friends in Low Places" - Garth Brooks

First up, it's "Friends in Low Places" by Garth Brooks. Talk about swingin' for the fences right out the gates! When this song comes on, you can't help but sing along from start to finish. It's got that catchy hook "I've got friends in low places," and it's all about having a good time – exactly what we want as our leadoff song.

"It’s A Great Day to Be Alive" - Travis Tritt

Next, we keep the positivity rolling with Travis Tritt's "It’s A Great Day to Be Alive." As we gear up for a BHP football game, this track says it best – it's a great day to be alive, and who knows, I might just make some homemade soup.

"Rednecker" - Hardy

Now, onto "Rednecker" by Hardy. It's a more recent addition to the country scene, but it still gives off those party vibes. It hits close to home for BHP, with folks seeing us as a country school, so why not embrace that idea?

Honorable Mentions

Narrowing down three country songs for this playlist was tougher than a two-minute drill in a torrential downpour. So, here are three (could have easily been thirty) honorable mentions:

Party

We've kept the party rolling after Hardy, and now it's time to unleash some EDM and party music. Brace yourselves, because we're cranking up the energy a couple of notches closer to kickoff.

"Sail" - Meute

First, in this category, we've got "Sail" by Meute, a band that brings EDM to the marching band. They've got this marching band style that brings a special type of energy to the stadium. And from the looks of our Facebook comments, some people are very passionate about marching bands.

"Levels" - Avicii

Then, we hit it with "Levels" by Avicii, one of the most iconic EDM songs of the last decade. It's another banger to keep that energy sky-high, and I wanna see people moving to the music in the stands with this one!

"Home" - Marshmello

Lastly, we turn the BPM up 100% with "Home" by Marshmello. One of my favorite EDM artists delivers one of his most fun songs – a perfect fit for this party category.

Honorable Mentions

The party never wants to end, and narrowing it down to just three songs was like trying to pick my favorite moment from last season. But, here are a few honorable mentions:

Rock

Time to shift gears from partyin' to a harder, stronger sound – it's rock time, baby! This section is all about cranking up those guitars, drums, and epic vocals, filling the whole stadium with dominant sounds.

"Black Smoke Rising" - Greta Van Fleet

We start the rock category with "Black Smoke Rising" by Greta Van Fleet, and oh boy, it's an absolutely epic vocal performance. If you're a Led Zeppelin fan, this song will be right up your alley. From Marshmello to Greta Van Fleet we're hittin' all those pregame feelings a football fan needs.

"Iron Man" - Black Sabbath

Next up, we have "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath, one of the most iconic rock songs of all time. As soon as that bass guitar hits those first chords, you can feel the energy surgin' through you.

"We Will Rock You" - Queen

And what do we even need to say about "We Will Rock You" by Queen? It's the biggest stadium anthem in the world, and it'll have everyone stomping their feet to the beat, ready to rock!

Honorable Mentions

Cutting down the list to just three rock songs was like trying to tackle Marquise Henderson in the open field. But, here are the honorable mentions:

Hype

We're in the home stretch now, mere minutes away from kickoff, and it's time to crank that hype meter up to eleven! This category brings us songs that'll turn the stadium into a frenzy.

"Drip too Hard" - Lil Baby

Kicking off with "Drip too Hard" by Lil Baby, this song echoes Lil Baby's style throughout the stadium. Look good, play good is my motto – and you best believe we're drippin' too hard, so don't stand too close!

"Ruff Ryders Anthem" - DMX

Next up, "Ruff Ryders Anthem" by DMX – an absolute beast of a track that hits harder than a safety flying downhill to make a tackle. It's just what the stadium needs as we approach kickoff.

"We Ready" - Archie Eversole

And finally, we've got "We Ready" by Archie Eversole, the ultimate hype song to end the playlist. This is the kind of track that'll pump up the crowd like nothing else. As the song says, "You ain't ready for us, 'cause you ain't ready for me."

Honorable Mentions

Limiting the hype to just three song is like trying to block ExZavier Burns without double-teaming him, it just doesn't work. But here's the honorable mention:

Bonus:

You made it this far, here’s a little something extra.

As the songs end and the team is ready to charge onto the field, we queue up this speech from Rex Ryan. That combination of passion and intensity is the ultimate fuel for the players and the fans!

As the speech ends, the marching band hits the first note of "2001", and the game is on. Man, could there be anything better than that?

So there you have it – the most epic pregame playlist ever made. Just imagine the party going on in the stands as the team takes the field. It's instantaneously one of the best atmospheres in high school football – the most fun you can have too, no doubt.

Now, I believe this playlist is epic, but hey, you might think I missed something. If so, let me know in the comments or on our social media accounts (Facebook and Twitter.).

And by the way, you might've noticed in this post, this season, the Bear Tracks posts are going to have a little more personality, kinda like the way Bill Simmons or writers from The Ringer write their stuff. Hope y'all like the change.

Next week, get ready for our next preseason article, and trust me, I’m not done with the stadium's sound system just yet!
