2021 Week 5 Bear Tracks

In most close games every second matters and can turn the tide in the game. Friday night against T.L. Hanna it was more like 42 seconds that decided the game. In the 3rd quarter, BHP was only down by 2 touchdowns but at the 8-minute mark, Hanna scored 3 touchdowns in less than a minute and put the Bears out of reach.

Although the score looked like the game got out of hand, BHP played very hard and fought until the end. The depth of Hanna’s team really showed as the game went on. Nevertheless, the Bears have another opportunity this week as they will be looking to get back on the right side of winning this Friday against Woodruff.

Week 5 Preview

As you may remember, two weeks ago BHP was scheduled to play Palmetto. That game was canceled. BHP in turn promptly scheduled Woodmont. That game was canceled. BHP then scheduled Broome. That game was canceled. Then as the week neared Friday Night, BHP was able to schedule Woodruff during the planned bye week after the T.L. Hanna game. That is how we got to where we are now, the Bears vs the Wolverines.

Woodruff comes into this matchup 1-1 with a 41-28 win over Chesnee and a 41-24 loss to Hillcrest. However, their last game was played on 8/27.

BHP will need to get off to a faster start than they have in their other three games this season. Being outscored 21-6 in the first quarter of games this season has put BHP chasing which is not what the Bears are built for. Hopefully, BHP will be able to put points on the board and really get the offense in a rhythm that can carry over for the rest of the season.

Conclusion

It has been nearly a month since we last saw a Bear win. However, getting the Bears back home and in front of Bear fans will be a welcome change. It will be great to see how BHP can bounce back from their last two losses.

Prediction: BHP 35 - Woodruff 21
