2019 Week 10 Bear Tracks

BHP’s game against Wren was moved up a day and at times it looked like BHP brought their JV team to the game. BHP lost to Wren 55-28 and goes to 6-2 on the season and 3-1 in region play.

Although the outcome was a 27 point loss for the Bears, BHP was within 6 points at one point in the 2nd half. BHP’s dominating rushing attack was suppressed, but they were able to gain major yardage through the air. Nevertheless, the loss puts BHP’s backs against the wall and to win the region they will need some help from another region team this Friday night.

Week 10 Preview

Coming off a disappointing loss to Wren, BHP will have to bounce back against an undefeated Daniel team. Daniel is one of only three AAAA teams that are undefeated and currently sits at the top of Region 1. This matchup has nearly always decided the region title and this year is no different. Since 2000, BHP or Daniel have either won or tied for first place in the region 16 out of the 19 seasons. Although BHP will need some help from Walhalla, three different teams could be crowned region champs this Friday.

With all of the playoff and region championship ramifications on the line, the only part BHP can control is their matchup with Daniel. Recently, BHP has had the upper hand against Daniel winning the last 4 matchups. However, BHP is 20-29 all-time against Daniel.

BHP will have to play their best game of the season against Daniel to come out ahead. Getting back to controlling the game and not chasing an outcome will be the key to BHP winning. Daniel will present the toughest test BHP will face this season and we will see how BHP can respond.
