BHP opened region play against Pendleton last Friday night and they made a statement in the process. BHP showed from their first offensive play that they were the superior team and never looked back.
BHP will need to take that momentum and roll it into this week. The Bears travel to take on Greer in a non-region game, but at this time in the season all teams look to be playing their best football and we hope that is where BHP is headed.
Week 8 Preview
BHP takes a one-week break from region play to take on the Greer Yellow Jackets. Both teams come into the matchup 3-3 and look to have one last tune-up before the bulk of their region games begin.
Greer’s wins have come over Westside, Union County, and Woodruff while their losses came against Byrnes, Southside Christian, and last week against Greenville (region game). In those games, Greer has been outscored this season 197 to 154. In their wins this season, the Yellow Jackets have a winning margin of only 6 points per game. Nevertheless, Greer’s schedule is one of the toughest in the state, so their record can most certainly be tossed out the window because Greer will be one of the best teams BHP plays this season.
BHP will look to continue the level of play they had against Pendleton. The Bears need to continue their explosive plays and power rushing attack combined with the opportunistic defense getting takeaways.
